No seu lançamento original, em janeiro de 2005, o DUNK SB PIGEON foi responsável por uma grande confusão, que mobilizou a polícia de Nova York e ganhou manchetes de jornais impressos e programas de TV.

12 anos depois, a reedição preta do modelo já caminhava no mesmo sentido, até que um comunicado da corporação, divulgado pela Extra Butter – loja que vai operar o espaço temporário montado para as vendas – determinou que as filas só podem ser montadas quatro horas antes de começarem as vendas. Ainda segundo a postagem de Jeff Staple, tem par suficiente para todo mundo e não seria necessário confusão para garantir o tênis.

Ao mesmo tempo, Staple divulgou que uma coleção de vestuário estará disponível no local, fechando os festejos de 15 anos de DUNK SB e 20 da sua marca, a STAPLE DESIGN.

I know people have waited a long time for us to bring this iconic bird back to Nike. Is it a coincidence? Or is it by design that we would release this in both the 15th Anniversary of the SB Dunk AND the 20th Anniversary of Staple? I’m not even sure myself. But we did know one thing. While everyone else was taking the “high” road, we wanted to come with something unexpected. In order to open a new chapter for Staple, The Pigeon and The Swoosh; I wanted to remove all color, and just let the Pigeon be the story. It’s fitting that 2017 is a special anniversary for both brands. Together, we start anew with a blank slate that allows for limitless possibilities in the future. Introducing, The “BLACK PIGEON” by @nikesb & @staplepigeon. Color: Black/Black/Sienna in Nubuck & Stetson Water Proof Leather. A tongue gusset provides a sock-like fit & yeah, we had to bring back the padded thick tongue. Nike has never put the old school padded tongue onto the new outsole with added heel lobe inside for lock down fit—this is a Black Pigeon exclusive. Nike Zoom Air in the heel and we brought back the OG sock liner print for good measure. And last but certainly not least, OG pink Nike SB box has been resurrected just for the Black Pigeon. These will release on Tuesday 11/7 at 11am at 125 Orchard St. NYC at the special @reedspace one day pop-up in conjunction with @extrabutter. #FlockWithUs #StapleXX ⚫️🐦⚫️
